6 simple weekly tasks to maintain your pool!

Uughhh… Just more tasks on top of the laundry, dinner, kids after school activities…

Weekly pool maintenance is a hassle, we get it, but there are a few things that are important to keep on top of to save money and time down the road.

💦 Skim leaves and debris

This can be done quickly and keeps your pool water clean AND your filter system from clogging up… which can be a big hassle to fix.

💦 Brush the pool walls

This will help to prevent the debris that can get stuck on the pool walls, prevent algae and help maintain fixtures like ladders.

💦 Vacuum the pool

Get yourself an automatic vacuum and this one is super easy and super effective. Making sure all those little bits of dirt and debris get cleaned up will help with the longevity and efficiency of your filter system.

💦 Clean the skimmer

Doing this weekly won’t take long and prevent the build-up of debris which would otherwise affect the efficiency of the skimmer to do it’s job better, for longer.

💦 Keep the pump running

(not 24/7 but a bit every day). Keeping the water running, filtering and skimming will help to move chemicals around and allow you to make sure that each part of the system is doing its job properly. Not only does this help with the quality of water but can also show you something isn’t working correctly before it becomes a major (and expensive) issue.

💦 Test and balance the water

Doing this every week will help to eliminate the negative effects of unbalanced water, should your water ever become unbalanced. It will also allow you to make small adjustments to the chemical levels without having to spend too much time, effort and potential money trying to fix it later.
